Your Memories in a Magazine

Adding that extra special touch…

When everything around us is about speed, urgency to absorb information and the internet at our fingertips, there's something uniquely satisfying about seeing something that you can touch and hold with your own hands.

We’re not just talking about a LifetimesMAG, either.

With weddings, for example, it’s highly unlikely that you’re going to be happy with just digital copies of your pictures, and it’s very likely that you’ll want to post out physical invitations rather than inviting guests via email or text.

The personal touch

When you look at the wonderful creations of InkScript Studio – a calligraphy and design studio that creates a host of beautiful, hand-crafted stationery for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other special events – you cannot fail to appreciate just how powerful that personal touch can be.

Jen Blundell, owner and founder of InkScript Studio, studied graphic design at university before a spell in the event-planning sector, working with some of the biggest brands in the world.

It was at this point that she saw an opportunity to use her love for and skills in design to launch her own business. After designing and creating all the stationery and signage for her wedding to now-husband Rory in July of last year – attracting huge praise from visitors – she established InkScript Studio.

“Even though the wedding planning process was fairly stressful, seeing everything on the day and how it tied all my hopes of what it would look like together made the day extra special,” Jen says.

“Your wedding day is truly once in a lifetime, the most personal day with all your closest friends and family, so handmade touches really do make a difference.

“From receiving a beautifully addressed envelope on your doorstep in this day and age, to the bespoke designed table plan and your own little place name is a thrill, a pleasure and a surprise.”

Calligraphy with a twist

Although passionate about using calligraphy in her work, Jen can bring a modern angle to stationery and digitise for use across all elements. For, example if Jen is designing a monogram for a couple of their initials, then this can be printed on all materials, ensuring a consistent quality.

But it’s not just about stationery for Jen; InkScript Studio also offers bespoke prints, quotes, cards and even wrapping paper.

“I work on everything and anything from poems or quotes to be framed for a special someone, wrapping paper for birthdays, gift tags for Christmas, wine glasses for a personalised gift, eggs for an Easter centrepiece... anything goes as long as I can write on it,” Jen says.

“I love working by myself though I'm never truly by myself, my little Cavapoo puppy Ted is always by my side, or on my chair or sleeping on my pillow. I love the flexibility of my day, being able to work when I am most productive and if it's a nice day, then I can take Ted out or work during the evenings if I need to.

“I'm really excited to see where the next year will take me and can’t wait to work with so many people!”
